About Sunshine Daydream
Sunshine Daydream started in 1993 as a store named Shroomarama in Virginia Beach in an alley between two stores where we set up and sold T-shirts, Gifts and Jewelry during Spring Break. When Spring Break moved to Panama City we moved the store with it and set up on Front Beach Road. We would also hit the road traveling around to colleges after summer ended, setting up and selling our merch during their first week of school.

Loop Bound
We often heard comments from people who traveled from the Midwest that they wished there was a store like ours in St. Louis. Especially in an area called The Delmar Loop.
In 1995 we made that trip to the Delmar Loop in University City to check out this cool area we had heard so much about. At the time there was only one spot available in the whole Loop to rent, which was a 500 square foot store on the second floor, located next to a new (at the time) and now iconic tattoo shop called Iron Age Tattoo.
A New Horizon
We knew the name Shroomarama wasn't a fit for the Saint Louis area. So we chose a lyric from the Grateful Dead's Sugar Magnolia song and called the store Sunshine Daydream. And that is how what now has become a 30 year staple in St. Louis was born.
Early on we had more and more people asking for a bigger selection of smoking accessories. Which led us to opening up our second shop right down the street in 1997 called Emporium Smoke Shop. A shop still thriving today. In 1999 we moved Sunshine Daydream directly downstairs next to another iconic St. Louis shop, Vintage Vinyl.
Growing the Dream
With so many customers coming from the entire region to visit us, we soon began to expand to cater to our followers' demand, to be closer to them. In 2001 we expanded to South County, an area of southern St. Louis County. Soon to follow was our Fairview Heights, Illinois location. From there we expanded to one of Missouri's top destinations, the Lake of the Ozarks on the Bagnell Dam strip, in the space formerly known as Frick -n- Frack.
In 2020 we moved west and added a location in O'Fallon, MO. Opening one of the biggest Head Shops in the state. And most recently, in 2023, after several years of managing a store called Cosmic Corner in Racine, Wisconsin, we re-branded it and finally made it a Sunshine Daydream, too.
Celebrating 30 Years
In 2025 we will celebrate our 30th Anniversary of being in business in the Saint Louis area. We look forward to so many more years of sharing the love for the industry with our customers and followers. We love being able to be your one-stop shop for all things music related like Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and many more. As well as the widest selection of Smoke Shop products in the region from High End American Glass, Vapes and Smoking Accessories to your old-school Dugouts and Hitters.
Plus everything in between. We've got your tapestries, incense, posters, stickers and niche gift items covered. And we will always continue to carry the Top Brands our industry offers to keep you ahead of the trends.
